A Great Conversation

Hey all!

Many of you are aware of my good friend and fellow blogger Speed Reader over at My Favorite Author.

Well she just posted a very thought provoking post sparked be a twitter discussion with Barry Goldblatt.

I encourage all of my readers to go check it out and really think about this. What do you think about it? I think it is something worth discussing and understanding from both sides!

Randi I don't know how you didn't know, since this is where I got my blogging start thanks to Speed Reader! I blogged with her for about a year and a half before starting MPB!

Great discussion! As a Middle-grade writer, I just assume that only the most intelligent, fun-loving and discerning adults will get my stuff. ;) After all, adults who read and love are a bonus, not the target audience, so of course they may be surprised to find themselves reading and loving.

Thanks for your comment Suzanne! I know SpeedReader's idea was really well "why?" Why would it bother you to convert an adult to your YA books?

I personally LOVE YA. I kinda always have. Does that mean I don't read great adult, MG or even picture book literature too? Nope!
